Preppy Wedding Inspiration

I am going to be leaving town for work for a few days and probably won’t have the time to blog, so I wanted to leave you with some other teaser details on the wedding, since we are a day away from being March. As in, the month of our wedding. Ahhhh.
I am trying to work out a guest blogger of the male species to blog in my absence. We'll see if we can't get a 6'4 cutie to share his thoughts on the perfect preppy wedding!

Just in case you need reminding, our monogram.

The Inspirational cake (except ours will have more dots and the monogram with be more in line with the monogram) oh and no topper. I am just not a fan of flowers on cake?

The CD preview (I promise to post the how to later next week). And they look a lot cuter wrapped and tie with a brown grosgrain ribbon. Sorry about the color, my camera makes it look a little off.

Bathroom Basket Inspiration (which my mom is taking care of).

Thank you picture for the thank you cards to be run after the wedding.
And just and FYI - most pictures are courtesy of the knot. I hope everyone has a super fun and WARM weekend. I think spring is in the air! Oh and look-out for the guest post tomorrow. Should be LOTS OF FUN.

Southern Weddings

Tara Guerard, the acclaimed Charleston party planner and owner of Soiree has just published the book Southern Weddings. For all you preppy brides who admire Seersuckers and Mint Juleps, this one is a must have. I think I would have just bought it for the cover (I have been known to do this, sad, I know).

And if you have the time, take a look at the Gallery section of the Soiree site. Her ideas are fantastic!
In other news, the kitchen organization weekend project went very well. I managed to not do anything truly wedding related this weekend, which was glorious. I had my last dress fitting last week, finalized the program details and sent them to our graphic designer after meeting with the church coordinator and organist. Did y'all know that the Bridal March by Wagner was bad luck? Apparently, so, so I suppose Trumpet Voluntary (the Fischer version) will do.

Prepppy Wedding Finds

I’ve have some more preppy wedding finds for you. Let me just get to it.

Galvanized silver tubs have become a main stay for throwing a great preppy party or wedding. Check out NYC based Jamali Garden Supplies for a great selection of galvanized ware.

Also take a look at their great vases and urns. Most offer a perfect compliment to a preppy arrangement.

Wedding Paper Divas (who I blogged about here) are offering a bunch of new designs. I am dying that this one did not come out before my wedding. It is too cute.

I’m also loving these white lace lanterns from White Aisle. I think they look so romantic and very Gatsby.

A blog I just found today, Sisters with Style, posted here about Petite Prints. This company will design stationary around your “families” silhouettes. I just HAVE to have these for the after wedding thank yous. Can’t you just imagine this face as a silhouette?

I’ll leave you with a fabulous idea from the leader of the preppy word, Mrs. Stewart. Listed as one of her good things, these pie favors are a great spin on the edible handout. If there are any Richmond girls out there, can you imagine a favor any better than a Ukrops key lime tart?

The Preppy Bachelorette Party

Just wanted to let everyone know the Shower/Bachelorette weekend went great and yes, I am still alive, although I had a hard time getting off the couch bed on Sunday (but I did get to watch the entire second season of Sex and the City).

I don’t have pictures back yet from the shower, but I do have some bachelorette pictures. First, I know I blogged about our preppy attire for the night, so here are our wedding role polos.

As for other preppy details, check out the argyle cake that matched the Caspari grossgrain plates and napkins that were used. (I can’t find a picture of the Caspari napkins on-line, but they perfectly matched the cake!)

I got lots of cute lingerie and my friends really nailed the polka dot theme within my lingerie. I also got some awesome hanky panky items, which I LOVE.

Here’s a picture of my super preppy bridesmaids and friends (all decked out in their polos and argyle) who were in attendance and followed me out for a night of FUN.

LOTS OF FUN. I’m so lucky to have such great friends who traveled from near and far to celebrate one of my last night’s of singleness. And boy did we celebrate…four bars…stretched expedition limo…pregnant Paige dancing in a boy sandwich. Again, I cannot reiterate that we did have LOTS OF FUN. Maybe some pictures will fully express that sentiment.

Oh yes that is Polynesian sauce from some late night chick fil a munching in the limo. Erin just had to take a pose by it.

And the piece de resistance .

Yes, that was tequila. And yes it is very painful for me to look at this picture!

Big thanks to Alison, Erin, Paige, Jess, Ree, Megan, Julie, Nicole, Mrs. Hunt, Lantzie, Lau, Rachel, the preppy lil sis, and Kelly for such a great time!

I’ll try and post shower details tomorrow, if I can get my hands on some pictures.

Preppy Party Supplies

Well, I am very excited for the fun wedding weekend ahead. Tonight my best friend from NYC comes in and we are all doing dinner. Poor thing rode on a Grey Hound bus to get here, as her Jet blue flight was cancelled due to ice.

Then tomorrow, I have a bridal shower thrown by my dad’s sisters, followed by a bachelorette party thrown by my bridesmaids. Last night, I got these to wear with my polo and jeans, who knows what else is on tap for tomorrow night. With 13 girls hitting the town, it should be a VERY good time.

This weekend, I promise to take picture of some of the DIY favors we are using for inspiration to all you other brides-to-be. Nothing too out of the ordinary, but fun, cute stuff.

I’ll leave you with this site to look at this wonderful Friday afternoon. We just received some matchbooks we’re using in conjunction with sparklers for our send off. For Your Party offers the best price and the easiest customization with so many color and font choices. They are a god send to anyone planning a party and needing napkins, gift tags, ribbon, coasters or matchbooks. I highly recommend you take a look.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

The Preppy Wedding Recommends Style Me Pretty

Wow. I just spent way too much time this morning exploring a new wedding blog, Style Me Pretty. This blog has some great information on current trends and Abby, the blogger will even put together an inspiration board to nail down your wedding theme.

As an experienced bride and stationary designer, Abby has great ideas and has the unique ability to visualize and create (something this blogger is quite unable to do).

So take a look at her site today!

One of the great things she just blogged about was wonderful wedding graffiti. This site allows you to customize amazing vinyl elements for wedding décor. Try a thank you note near the table for presents, or a welcome monogram on the doors of your church. There are lots of amazing ideas here and the prices aren’t sky high.

Want an interesting way to personalize table décor or favors, take a look at these amazing ideas.

Valentine’s Day Run-Down

Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite holidays. I like the idea of celebrating love and when I was single I liked the idea of celebrating my independence.

In a few months, I will have a permanent Valentine, something I very much look forward to. Not for the presents or the dinners, but for the ability to celebrate our relationship as it grows and changes.

Now, back to presents.

Here’s my lovely Jcrew Valentine’s jacket.

And here’s what the husband-to-be was gifted with this morning. Fun stuff, huh?

My parents were sweet enough to send us a gift certificate to Moe's which we will surely enjoy on our weekly Sunday lunch trips!

Hope all you readers have a fabulous Valentine’s Day and I wish you all love, happiness and most of all the ability to enjoy yourself and your life!
